A Journey of Dedication, Learning and Leadership
Adarsha Secondary School takes immense pride in having Mr. Buddi Kumar Gho as its Principal—a dedicated educator, inspiring academic leader, lifelong learner, and literary enthusiast whose remarkable association with the institution spans nearly three decades. Mr. Gho began his professional journey at Adarsha Secondary School in 1996 AD, joining as a Secondary Level Science Teacher under a temporary Government quota with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. His entry into the teaching profession marked the beginning of a long and distinguished career devoted to education and public service.
Demonstrating perseverance and professional commitment, he successfully passed the examination conducted by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in August 2007, and was subsequently appointed as a permanent Secondary Level Teacher. This achievement represented an important milestone in his career and reflected his dedication, competence, and commitment to the teaching profession.
His professional growth continued with his promotion to the position of Second Class Secondary Teacher in September 2016. Through every stage of his career, Mr. Gho continued to strengthen his academic qualifications and broaden his understanding of education, leadership, society, and pedagogy.
His commitment to lifelong learning is particularly noteworthy. He completed his M.A. in Sociology in 2000, followed by a B.Ed. in 2002 and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Evaluation in 2006, securing First Division. His desire to further contribute to educational leadership eventually led him to pursue an M.Phil. in Educational Leadership from Kathmandu University, which he successfully completed in 2022.
A significant milestone in his professional journey came in 2008, when he was entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the Plus 2 Coordinator for the launch of the school’s higher secondary education program. Under his dedicated coordination and leadership, Adarsha Secondary School successfully introduced Plus 2 programs in Management, Humanities, and Education, affiliated with the then Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB). This initiative opened new academic pathways for students and marked an important chapter in the institutional development of the school.
Since May 2018, Mr. Gho has been serving as the Principal of Adarsha Secondary School. His leadership represents a balanced combination of academic vision, administrative responsibility, discipline, compassion, and institutional commitment. He believes that education extends beyond textbooks and examinations, and that schools have an equally important responsibility to nurture character, creativity, confidence, responsibility, and social awareness among young people.
Despite his administrative responsibilities as Principal, Mr. Gho has remained closely connected with classroom teaching. He continues to teach Education and Rural Development to Grade 12 students and Science to Grades 9 and 10. His continued engagement with students reflects his enduring belief that educational leadership is strengthened by remaining connected to the actual process of teaching and learning.
Mr. Gho’s interests extend beyond academic and administrative responsibilities. He is also a passionate literary enthusiast who occasionally expresses his thoughts and reflections through poetry. His poetic collection, Desh Dukheko Bela, published in 2021, reflects his sensitivity toward society, humanity, and the realities of contemporary life.
His professional journey—from joining the school as a temporary government-quota teacher in 1996, becoming a permanent teacher through the Teachers Service Commission examination in 2007, being promoted to Second Class Secondary Teacher in 2016, serving as Plus 2 Coordinator, and ultimately assuming the responsibility of Principal in 2018—is a testament to his perseverance, continuous learning, professional excellence, and unwavering dedication to education.
As a Principal, he took the initiative in 2075 BS to introduce Career Guidance Classes for Grade 9 students under the ENSURE Project of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). This was the first initiative of its kind in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, aimed at helping students understand their interests, abilities, aspirations, and potential educational and career pathways at an early stage.
Recognizing the value of the programme, other secondary schools in the municipality gradually adopted the Career Guidance Classes. The initiative subsequently received institutional support from the Bagmati Provincial Government and developed into a government-supported programme reaching students across the municipality.
The impact of this initiative has extended beyond the local level. Today, similar career guidance programmes are being implemented by other provincial governments in Nepal as well. At the federal level, the Government of Nepal has also begun incorporating and promoting career guidance and related initiatives within its broader educational framework.
It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that an initiative that began at the school level with the vision of empowering Grade 9 students has gradually gained wider recognition and has contributed to the growing emphasis on career guidance, informed educational choices, vocational awareness, and future-oriented learning in Nepal’s education system.
Over the years, Mr. Gho has contributed not only to the academic growth of countless students but also to the institutional development and educational advancement of Adarsha Secondary School. His journey embodies the values of dedication, integrity, lifelong learning, leadership, and service.
With profound respect and gratitude, Adarsha Secondary School recognizes Mr. Buddi Kumar Gho as an educator and leader whose commitment has become an integral part of the school’s history. His experience, vision, and devotion continue to inspire students, teachers, and the wider school community while guiding the institution toward continued academic excellence and a brighter future.
“A career in education is measured not only by the years of service, but by the lives inspired, the minds nurtured, and the institution strengthened.”
